Decided to make a new from grill, the emblem is just way too big (IMHO) and detracts from the lines on the front end of this car. Bought a new grill to start working on, got a nice deal on it from a black friday dealership sale.
Dremeled and filed everything out
fiberglasses and compounded the base from where the emblem was removed
Primed the frame
i ordered the grill material from customcargrills.com i wanted something thick and as close to the factory look as possible
This next part was a lot of trial and error, fiberglass didnt want to stick to the abs plastic, tried tiger hair stranded fiber and results were not good...third times a charm....ended up testing some jb quik and this stuff was money! really bonded well to the plastic. lot of time spent cuting/forming and sanding to get the grill to where i was happy with it
Final sanding before paint
Primed
Painted gloss black
out with the old and in with the new:
Bumper back in place
wrapped chrome trim in carbon fiber to match the rest of the car
OK, I admit, I hit this thread expecting something to chuckle at, but I was proven wrong. This looks amazing -- very, very nice work.
Very thorough job well done! Smart to get a second grill to work on and to swap back out at trading time. Wonder what a Red GTR logo would look like on the lower drivers side.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Was curious as to how this would be received by the community.
In regards to the GTR logo, i did contemplate putting a NISMO logo on the lower left or right but in the end decided to just leave it plain. Think it would look really good though.
agreed, this looks pretty baller, and very professionally done. unfortunately, the front grill emblem is where they hide the front facing camera in the platinum models, so that option for me is out. But this looks awesome.
how much for you to make one and send to CA? im interested
I appreciate the interest and ill take that as a compliment. I just don't have the time to fabricate others. It really took an insane amount of time to sand everything out by hand.
I do have an option for you though............ I recently traded it in and didn't feel like taking the grill out so someone is gonna get a sick ride, alreay lowered, tinted, custom grill and diode dynamic headlight boards.......http://www.autonationnissanbrandon.n...5f99a4068e.htm
Dealer stripped all the carbon though.
