I am thinking about the $10 kit off ebay for the door edge guards. I have kids, and know they will be slamming cars.
Anyone know anything about door ding molding or where I can get good looking ones for my amazing new maxima?

Go clear or same color of the car, don't go all fancy, they break up the natural flow of the body, so if you have to get them, make them invisible.

I third this. The door guards MUST either be the color of the car or clear. Any thing else is not at all in keeping with the nice flow in the looks of this car.
I do use 1" wide black hard rubber molding around the edge of the wheel well openings (which are very vulnerable to dinging by nerds opening their car door into the side of nearby cars). I have done that on all my Maximas for over thirty years. But if you do this, then, unless your car is black, you must either cover any portion of paint that shows inside the wheel well with black vinyl or paint it black.

Funny you should mention door edge guards. I just leased a pearl white SV from Bill Ray Nissan in Sanford, Florida, and the first thing I noticed was the BLACK door edge guards. This dealer puts them on all their cars. I was about to comment to the wife about how ugly the guards are when she let me know that she LOVED the look, and it helped convince her to agree to lease the car. So the guards now stay on (at least they're thin).

Well said , Light! My 1st ding is right above the left rear wheel well. Some heartless wankster swinging open a door I'm sure. Fortunately the paint is not broken so I can get the dent removed without the paint workOriginally Posted by lightonthehill
