Little dots of rust

Noob question, but I've just noticed that I have a bunch of little tiny rust dots on the paint. I've had the car for almost 20 months now. Last winter the paint was fine didn't see any problems, but after washing my car by hand, I've noticed little dots of rust. I have a White 2016 Nissan Maxima SL. Now, is this covered by the warranty? If not, what can I do to fix it?

These are likely ferritic debris that were deposited from the transport from the factory. Depending where you live the car may have spent time on a rail car and this is commonly referred to as "rail dust". A thorough wash by hand, followed by a clay bar with plenty of soapy water will eliminate these particles from the surface of your paint. Afterwards, make sure you put a high quality sealant on the car to protect the finish from UV rays and environmental debris.

yeah clay bar takes care of small specks of rust, it's more than likely brake dust from your and other cars, winter and calcium makes it look much worse

My old white 2010 also did this. Claybar and polish does the trick well for removal

Yeah, rail dust...don't see it often, but when you do it looks worse then it actually is. A good detail will clean all that off, great suggestions so far.

get Iron-X to dissolve and clean it up. Same thing on my 09 Max.
Clay bar works too
Its all over my car and the problem is that, once you clean it, it will be back.
Its not rust of the body work, its metal particles adhering to the outside of the paint.
