Carplay on iPod Touch
Carplay on iPod Touch
I am currently an Android user looking at purchasing a 2017 Maxima Platinum. While I could hold out to see if Android Auto will be added to the 2018 Model Year, I currently have an excellent price on the 2017 Platinum. I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to use an iPod Touch with CarPlay?
I would love to use the updated/live maps of Apple Maps (they may suck compared to Google Maps, but are better than stock Navi), and I could tether the data to my phone, but will the car GPS be provided via this link?

according to https://www.apple.com/ios/carplay/
only iphone5 and later are carplay compatible.
So officially, iPod and iPad are not compatible, you may get somewhere with jailbreak.

I had the same concern as i am a android user.. i did the same inquiries.. then i tried my kids iphone and apple csr play is really worthless. There is no sdvantage to it at all. Especially for music. Just plug youy ipod into the usb and enjiy the contol from the screen that way.. its probably better than carplay..
The interface on nissans to the ipod through usb is really good
