Eibach installation tips needed

Hello everyone,

I am attempting to DIY my spring install and it seems as though the rears are a pain in the a$$. Anyone perform this on their own? I have disconnected the upper strut bolt and upper linkage bolt, but still cannot get the rear spring removed.

Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

There are a pain !! You need a helper and a long bar to to push it down while you remove the springs. I lower many nissan's and the rear is all ways easy but this maxima is a pain.

What bolts did you remove or loosen?

I only removed the strut and upper link.

agreed, we had one guy sit on a 2x4 (wedge it in there good) to get the spring out. It was a pain but well worth it.

I wrote this this morning for a guy on FB enjoy.

I found a way to do it pretty easily. You remove the bolt on the top arm, loosen both toe and camber adjustments bolts and remove the bolt from the shock. You need to do both side at the same time or the sway bar will fight you when you'll try to open the control arm. Make sure your car is on 2 jacks stands. Then when everything is loose, you use a small come along to slightly pull, use your head, both control arm together, that'll open both control arms up and you won't fight against the sway bar. Next you use a spring compressor on the inside of the spring, operating from the hole in the control arm. You need to grab 4 coils. Use only one compressor, the spring will make a radius when the control arm if open, put the spring compressor on the inside radius, towards the car, on the inside of the spring and the spring will put right out without the slight effort.

I took me an hour and a half to do the rear on my garage floor without a lift. Do not forget to preload all bushings on the rear
