Does my Maxima Platinum have automatic braking or just warning?

I am new to owning Nissan cars, so I apologize for my ignorance. I've looked on the Nissan website, my owners manual and this site a little and can't determine if my '16 Maxima platinum has automatic braking or just a warning feature. Can anyone quickly confirm this for me?

My wife has an Infiniti JX35 and I know her vehicle has it because I've felt the automatic braking feature engage a few times, but haven't felt it in the 10 months I've owned my Maxima. Thanks.

Btw, I love my car!!

It has both. Its a really weird sensation when it happens and the car feels like you are not hitting the brakes good enough depending on speed. I certainly would not go testing it on a car in front of you. No feature like this is 100%.

Also, to repeat some things that have been said in other forums since I see your new here.

1. Regular Emergency breaking is only effective up to about 50 miles per hour

2. Intelligent cruise control will actually auto-brake at any speed, so use that for extra protection at higher speeds... just make sure no ones on your tail because that can be another problem.

3. Either these systems can fail in bad weather

I have been wondering if your brake lights illuminate when the auto braking kicks in?

This a bit of a tangent, but I always wished I could wire up a special button to make the brake lights come on even if I'm not hitting the brakes. Sometimes people are riding my tail and I want them to back off

Just tap the brakes. I'll tap the brakes with my left foot with my right still on the gas.

I'd surely cause an accident if I tried that. I don't wanna slow down, I just want the joker behind me to think I am.

lol you don't slow down at all. You barely hit the brake. It just puts the brake lights on

tailgaters are annoying, for sure!
there is always, at least, one person who wants to be ahead of everybody.
even though there is no where else to move to, nor the possibility of speeding up.
that they would criss-cross lanes, and then end up behind you later on.
oh, well.

gotta be safe out there, you know.
peoples be crazy, sometimes.

I will slow down if someone gets that close to me and annoy them to the point that they want to go around me. BUT, (and I know I shouldn't do this, but the satisfaction is just to good to deny) If I'm able, I'll speed up as they're going around me and pace them so they can't get in front of me. They'll either have to change to another lane to avoid hitting someone in front of them, or slow down and get back behind me.

Be careful with that. Crazy society we live in and a good way to really **** someone off that has a gun on them. They are not afraid to use it now a days.

I second that, proving you can out drive some random punk on the street isn't worth getting shot. Unless you got 007s car, save it for the track!
