How to Get Non-AC Air from System
How to Get Non-AC Air from System
Have '17 Maxima SL. Can't figure out why AC often blows AC air whether AC or Auto buttons are On or Off.
Sometimes I can get non-AC air by turning system on with just the fan speed button, but most of the time the system still blows AC air. For instance yesterday I was hauling back from Wisconsin in 85 degree heat, AC was off and Auto was not on. Still got comfortable AC air all the way home. Why is this?
My previous Altima would give me non-AC fresh air by just turning the system to Auto, then pushing the "non-AC" button. The Max system must operate in a totally different way which I don't understand. The manual and Nissan videos are of no use.
Help!

I've seen that on a lot of cars with the climate control vs the standard on off base model stuff. Not sure how on some cars to do what you are asking, I gave up on getting there with my Cadenza. That car does a lot of **** I would like it not to do, but the setting changes don't exist.
Let me try and help on this subject. I have the same issue. Hears how I get it to go
to just outside Air.
If the system is in automatic mode> I first drop the fan speed by one click.
then I turn off the A/C button one click light goes out give it a few seconds.
If you still feel cold air coming from the vents. Turn on the A/C by one click
of the A/C button - light comes on and then turn off again one click of the A/C
button. That should shut the compressor.
Now if you already had the Auto A/C off , just do all the above steps that I
mention with the A/C button.
This works all the time for me.
