Old school parking brake....

Was thinking of this and just decided to post about it. I was actually quite surprised and gave me a chuckle when buying the car. This kind of semi luxury car and using that kind of parking brake. Most manufactures have gone to electronic as we know. BUT. I am actually glad the Maxima has it. Our last car 2015 Chevrolet Impala 2LTZ had electronic parking break system. Well guess what? Shortly after buying it brand new with barely over 1k miles on it on a big trip. I was having issues with it getting stuck and not fully releasing. You could actually feel the drag a bit when putting the car into drive rolling away. Long story short we made the trip barely as big money was involved and once we got back. Had it serviced and they replaced the faulty module that controlled the parking break. So while they are nice and very techy. I would not want one on a car ever again.

I do think Nissan should have added a parking release button for convenience.

Those of use who live in the hills where it snows really miss a parking brake lever close to the gear shift.
