USB 1 audio playback
USB 1 audio playback
2017 Maxima SL.
I have a question regarding music play back using MP3 files at 320 Kbps constant bit rate on a USB stick plugged into USB port 1 using a 64 GB stick.
I have noticed that randomly the entertainment unit will restart music playback from the very first song on the stick.
On other occasions it does remember the last song played and will continue where it left off.
It's a tad annoying since I have to point it back to where it was on the list when it forgets, and with such a large USB stick there are a lot of music files on it.
Any idea why it would show this peculiar random behavior? I cannot detect any pattern in it.

Sounds annoying, but it's probably not unreasonable. A flash drive has no library structure like a phone/iPod/cd so it could theoretically keep reading the first file first regardless of shuffle or not. I have not experienced this issue, but I have experienced many other Bluetooth audio streaming hiccups with the system so I'm not surprised it happens intermittently. Perhaps try leaving the audio on when you shut the car off and see if it remembers where you left off versus turning the audio off then turning off the car and see if that makes a difference.
I always leave the unit on when I shut off the car. Maybe I try a different stick or something like that. Only annoying part is the ports are close to the tray cover, so you have to use sticks that are short.
Otherwise you cannot close the cover...

I use an ipod classic that i modified to use a m2 ssd to replace the failed stock drive. Using this allows for more playback options that a usb stick. I had tried a very small 32gb usb stick that allowed the cover to close but was very limited in playback options. May be worth it to find one on ebay perhaps.
