Cruise control does not maintain speed down hill

Has anyone else experienced their cruise control not maintaining the desired speed when going down a steep decline? Works fine otherwise.

Very common on almost all vehicles and no, the Maxima is no different. Hybrids and electric vehicles will hold downhill speed perfectly.

Owner's manual has this in the Cruise Control section 5-39

Do not use the cruise control when driving under the following conditions:

● When it is not possible to keep the vehicle at a set speed.
● In heavy traffic or in traffic that varies in speed.
On winding or hilly roads.
● On slippery roads (rain, snow, ice, etc.).
● In very windy areas.
Doing so could cause a loss of vehicle control and result in an accident.

Because it is easy for a driver to obtain much better fuel economy in hilly areas by NOT using cruise control, I NEVER use cruise control unless in a fairly level/flat area.
