Low on Coolant
Low on Coolant
My 2016 maxima is at 27,600 and I checked my coolant this morning and noticed it was below low the minimum in the resivor. Is that normal for the miles it has?? Should I top off the coolant? Or check if it has a leak. Has anyone had this problem with the 2016 maxima?

What kind of temp are you driving in? Any extended periods of idling in very hot weather? My old '07 Altima lost a little bit on very hot summers here in Ohio, esp. when I did some extended idling in 80+ degree weather. I could always detect a whiff of coolant on hot days too and noticed fluid residue around the screw-on cap on overflow container? With my '17 SL I have noticed the same thing occurring although coolant loss is hardly noticeable. I'll just add just a little coolant about once per season. No reason to suspect a major problem however. I'm beginning to think it is the nature of Nissan systems to do that. Can't reason why...but happened on 2 new Nissan cars now!

i drive around 75 to 80 degrees weather but summer in l.a is pretty hot. I already had the car for 2 years so i figured it evaporates over time but not that soon... I usually check if any leaks comes from under the car but the only one i seen is the a.c which is normal. I'll just top it off and keep an eye on it. Good looking out with the advice
