What is the difference between the 2017 Máximas with build date up to April 2017 and build date after April, meaning starting in May 2017? I've seen in many places making this difference, mine was built on 05/2017, thanks

typically if the part was changed mid-production year, such language is used to sell you appropriate part matching your production.
Manufacturer's also use vin code splits for the same purpose.

Thank you, please could you explain what do you mean by "if the part"?

Maybe they changed the parts belonging to all the Maxima recalls they had in 2016?

I can't explain it specific to 8th gen Maxima, but for example:
Volvo s60 timing belt kits are sold based on the production year/vin of the car.
There were changes to the parts that made them incompatible.

So, looks like whatever parts you were looking up, were changed enough to make them incompatible between cars made in March and April 2017.

I maybe interpreting your question completely out of context.

Now I understand, thanks, I wasn't aware of that practice from the car manufactures, it make sense though

So, today I traded in my 2016 Platinum with a 2017.5 Platinum due to End of Lease on the 2016. The first thing I have noticed about the 2017.5 is how quickly the Nav system boots up. There is no blank black screen for seconds after engine start (or accessory on) - The Nissan logo immediately pops up right after the Start button press, then the little screen with the disclaimer then - Map. Steering seems to be tighter (or is that it is new with 35 miles on her?)

what is the difference between a 2017 and a 2017.5?

Does 2017.5 means a 2017 car with build date of May?

Nothing that I could figure by looking at a 2017 Window Sticker and comparing it to a 2017.5 Window sticker... The dealer could not clearly advise either.

Oh yeah, and one more outstanding feature - I can set up a Door Unlock feature to unlock the doors when I put the shifter in Park!

Window sticker will say so. Also, the first post in this thread references a build date before and after April as being the 2017 and the 2017.5. The build date will be on a sticker on the driver's side door jamb.

OK, I understand, a car with a build date of 04/17 or older will be a 2017 model, a car with a build date of 05/17 or newer will be a 2017.5 model, correct?

IMHO, no thats not correct. 2017.5 does not refer to Maxima's built in May,
it refers to a minor midyear refresh as in 2017 and 1/2.
Likewise, the factory likely had to ramp up in advance to start building 2017.5 cars, so it could have already been building them in March or April.

Mine was built in 02/17 and the window sticker said 2017.5
