Rentals vs lease in used

I am looking at a 2017 used SR. This car is the managers demo. How can you tell on a Car Fax if it was a rental car as opposed to a one year lease? I see a few others out there with less than 10k miles and trying to shop the price but wondering if they are less because of this. Wouldn't it be unusual for a rental company to lease an SR as opposed to lesser trim?

Have been away from the Maxima for awhile . Looking at an used Hyundai Genesis as well.

Thank you!

I actually rented Maxima a few times from 2 different companies I think Alamo and Dollar. Both of them were classified as premium cars and both times they were “Ss». So I imagine that SR would be overkill
That’s all I can help you with 😬

I bought a 2016 "S" from Enterprise Car sales and it was a rental before. They didn't have any trim levels above SV in the inventory when I was shopping. I paid 20K

How many miles you had on the car?

52K. I had 2 other's to look at that day with much lower milage but they were all 6-8K more in price. One SV which was really dirty, had some scuffs here and there and wasn't detailed at all. There was also an SR about 45 min away. I kind of regret not getting the SR with 1800 miles on it but it was 8000 more plus tax and I really was attracted to spending less $$ on my monthly payment. I put a decent chunk down (no trade) and paying less than 300 a month for 60 MOS with 2.99% interest.

For a Japanese brand like Nissan, 52K should be nothing, I expect as a new Maxima owner, these type of cars to last > 200K miles without major issues.

That's kind if my line of thought as well. I also have a few months of factory powertrain warrantee left and can buy extended to 100k if needed. I am planning on doing the 55K maintenance when it comes up. It drives great and Enterprise was actually a pleasure to deal with.

I thought you could buy the Nissan Extended Warranty only within the 3 years / 36K miles range only? Do you have a link to a site who would explain how the Nissan Extended Warranties are? Thanks

The company I financed through offered extended. I also use USAA and they offer extended I think

You can get the nissan extended security plus if you're under 60 MOS / 60K
not sure of the cost yet as I just requested a quote.

I just rented a Maxima SV from Avis which had 23K on the ODO. Lets face it, rental cars do catch hell from frequent different drivers. The one I had was so dirty I had it washed just so I could see out the windows! All 4 wheels had been curbed and the front lower plastic airdam was loose on the Pax side. The air interior and engine air cleaners were also very dirty. There were numerous door dings as well. That was the bad news.

Good news is the car tracked straight and returned over 32 MPG for all types of driving during an 1100 mile tour around Lake Michigan. If you could get this car for under or around 20K - figure at least 2.5k to recondition the wheels, get rid of the door dings and complete the brake service and new tires. Probably brake pads needed at a minimum and likely rotors as well. (I realize some of you could get this done for less but a I think the dealer is the place to go to get all recalls and reset the service clock) If you were to get an ext service contract, only the one written by Nissan will do! Spending any more money, really there is a business case to go ahead and go for the new Maxima.

Model S, there is a factory rebate for the S until 10/31, loyalty deal I got from Nissan, 6.5K rebate, to me the S has more than what I need. and I do not like leather seats, so any other model would't have worked for me. I would love to swap the wheels for the 19" though.
