Jut Bought a 2017

Hi. I just bought a used 2017 from a Nissan dealership. Car has 18,666. Had a 2000 Max and loved it. How does everyone like this model? What do you find are the biggest problems and disappointments?
Thanks, Dave

I got mine two weeks ago. Only surprise was no up/down seat adjustment on the passenger side even though I bought a Platinum.
Even so, I love the car and I'm still trying to figure out all the bells and whistles.

Got mine a month ago. Got the S model. I just found out last night the gas cap cover locks and unlocks with the passenger doors. Also, if you push in on the gas door cover while it's locked, it will pop open when you unlock the doors with the remote...

It's true, my wife has been freaking out about it...every time she turns around it pops open as she unlocks. Must be someone in her parking lot that likes to mess around, cause it never happens at home.

The only time it's happened to me was when I stopped to get gas, I hopped out and the cover was popped open. Left me wondering if the car knew where it was and because the low fuel level warning was on just popped the cover expecting to be fed...

Strangeness you boys are dealing with. Mine never just pops open on it's own. It unlocks when the doors unlock but it sure doesn't open up like the door in a haunted house.

It only happened to me once. Afterwards I discovered pushing on the cover while it's locked will position the cover so it pops open when you unlock. I don't think it will be an issue unless someone does it intentionally.

Try pushing on it while the car is locked. Next time you go to unlock the door is when it pops open...pretty sure that's the sequence.

Scan the topics and you'll see that most of us just love the thing. You should be able to find complaints as well but they are few.

Ditto compyelc4,

I think the love far exceeds the hate for this car. Of course there's always gonna be the rare lemon out there, but for the part most of the problems have been little things, squeaks, ticks, and rattles.

I think the key to whether you will be disappointed depends on your expectations. If you think it is a real "sports car", and you know what a sports car is supposed to feel like, you will be disappointed. If your coming from a family car or a lesser sedan... you probably will enjoy it a lot

Well I thought you guys were funnin' me. Just went out to the SL and with doors unlocked I was able to depress the fuel door and it popped open. Then I locked the doors and tried to pop the fuel door....nada, but it very slightly opened although still locked. When I unlocked the doors the fuel door DID pop open then. Surprised me. Thought I knew my car. Never stopped to think that the fuel door locked when the doors locked. I thought it was ready to open at any time.

I bought SV in August already put 5000 miles on it. I love it no complains. The dealer and reviewers talked a lot about zero gravity seats. I kinda thought it was a marketing crap because I have driven lots of cars over the years So I didn’t even buy that until yesterday. I drove 1000 miles from Chehails, WA down to Los Angeles, CA for 16 hours. Took off at 6 am and made it to LA by 10 pm. I have recently driven similar route on 2017 Lexus RX 350 fully loaded and my butt felt numb after 1.5 hours. In Maxima I didn’t even had to take out my wallet from the back pocket. They seems to really works.

Weird, because I checked mine who is a 2017 S and it did not open. My build date is May 2017. I thought it was maybe a bug in the 2016 models.

Checked my '17 Platinum and it does it some times. The first time I tried it it opened when I unlocked the car. Tried it several more times and it only did it once again. You can tell when it will open when unlocking because the lid will pop out about and 1/8 of an inch when the door is pushed. If it does not pop out that small amount it will not open.
