Hi. Another question about my new (pre-owned) 2017 Maxima SV I just got last week. It has to do with the headlights and the windshield wipers. I'm in NYS, where the headlights have to be on whenever the wipers are on. I am pretty sure that if my headlights are set to off and I turn the wipers on then I would have to turn the headlights on manually, correct? But what about when the headlights are in the Auto position? Do I still have to turn them on manually and then return them to the Auto position when I shut the wipers? Hope I'm making myself clear. I can't answer for the SV but in my SR, when my lights are set to automatic, the headlights turn on when I turn on my wipers.

Yes, I have an S and they do indeed turn on automatically with wipers.

 

Yes all trims are equipped with this feature. Even when the wipers are in intermittent mode, after 5 "swipes", the lights come on automatically.

 

They do come on automatically but they also turn off immediately if you turn the wipers off.
