New Tire Suggestions

My 2017 had a nail that was causing a slow leak in one of the original Continental tires. It was in the tread area but very close to the sidewall. Goodyear and Mavis said it was in a non-repairable area. I went to my regular mechanic who said it was repairable and did so. I'll see if it holds. The car has 17,770 miles. If it doesn't hold and I need new tires, I figured at this point I should replace two of them, not the one. The Continentals seem to be very expensive, like $266 per tire, installed, plus tax. I don't think I need to go with such expensive tires. My mechanic suggested Dunlop Signature HPs, which would run me $175 each if I paid cash. Anyone familiar with these tires? Anyone have any other suggestions for decent, reasonably priced tires to replace the Continentals? I don't see what is so special about the Continentals anyway. They are very noisy and the one time I drove in snow the car was all over the place.
Thanks, Dave

Take a look at all the options for your car on tirerack.com. They have reviews and users ratings of most of the tires that are available. There are many good options that are significantly less expensive than the Continentals. There's some good information there.

tireracks prices suck compared to discounttire! I have purchased my last 10 sets of tires from discounttire. Tirerack rapes you on shipping
