5w30 ok to use in 8th gen Max?

Manual states 5w30 is ok to use (vs 0w20). Is anyone else using 5w30? Also, do I have to use synthetic? I believe my mechanic uses Castrol GTX 5w30 as his standard.

I just bought my 2016 Max last week and it has just under 32k miles. Also, how often do you change the oil? 3,000 miles? 5,000 miles?

It is a shame the manual does not state how often or how many miles to change oil and filter...oh wait...it does give owner valuable information about this very subject:

Standard maintenance; features 5,000 mile or 6 month, whichever
comes first.

Yes, both 0W-20 and 5W-30 API Rating SN motor oil are approved for use in your Maxima. What does the manual say about synthetic oil?

0W-20 oil is only available in a synthetic blend, or a full synthetic. 5W-30 is available in synthetic, synthetic blend, or conventional (Dino) oil.

The choice is yours, use what brand of motor oil and viscosity that allows you to sleep better at night.
