Hi all. I’m new to the forum. I picked up a new-to-me CPO 2016 Maxima SR with 5600 miles. Overall it’s a dream but I’ve noticed a few quirks. The one I’m focused on in this post is an odd squeak or squeal when I turn the wheel. The odd thing is that it only seems to be the first time I turn the wheel after not having driven it for a while. Because it only happens once per drive I am having a hard time locating it. It’s either coming from the steering column or somewhere in the front end.

Obviously it’s still under warranty but I’d like to try and gain an understanding of what is happening before I take it in.

Mine does it to. Never started until they replaced my steering wheel and done an alignment after that to get the steering wheel straight. Just like you mine does it when it sets after a while. Especially in the cold mornings.

Not sure about an actual squeal, but it does whine just a little making a sharp turn out of the garage. Goes away as soon as it's warmed up though.
