18-Inch Wheel Center cap-REMOVAL

I recently curb rashed my 2016's black 18-inch wheel. A total lack of attention of my part.

So I found a place online that has a new wheel for a great bargain versus dealer prices. I am going to have a local tire shop replace the wheel for me. However I thought I might remove the "Nissan" wheel cap to assure that it is good condition when installed on the new wheel.

Has anyone ever removed their center cap scratch or nick free? If so can you recommend a process or tools to do it?

I think it would be easiest to remove the wheel and pop it out from the hole in the back.
