My old '07 Altima SL advertised 264 watts peak (not rms) in its sales brochure. I'd think the Max would have at least that.

It is a fact that Bose has never been a company to advertise wattage, either peak or RMS on their amps and speakers. Nonetheless it takes some decent power to get the audiophile like sound we are seeming to demand these days. I rate my 2016 Maxima Platinum as decent sounding but not stunning by any means. My suspicion is that Bose has economized to some degree on the factory installed units in most car brands. That's what my older ears say anyway.
