Best "feature" of 2019

They raised the approach angle of the front air dam/splitter.
No more scratching the underside!!!!

Good find! I really had to be careful in my 2016 on driveway approaches

The front air dam/splitter has been a concern of mine from day one. I often put my wife behind the wheel and get out of the car and walk to the front and bend way over to insure I am not going to hit the curb with the splitter. I found early on that the front camera does not give a good view of this situation. If my wife is not in the car, I sometimes turn the car around and BACK into the parking place. I am glad Nissan is addressing this situation with the 2019 update.

Ditto on all these comments, approaching steep driveways is a major pain. I have no idea how them folks who lower their cars get by

on a positive note, having LED back lights is something new in 2019 that would have been nice from the start

Haven't bought yet, still have a few months on my current lease but I like the new look, USB in the back seats for my son is a nice to have, duel sunroof is cool but still not sure about that dual exhaust fascia....Looked at my pipes on my current 2016 and like the look.

"I found early on that the front camera does not give a good view of this situation." Really? That was one important consideration that almost prompted me to go with the Platinum instead of the SL, which I got. I would have been really disappointed.

What does that have to do with the front AIR DAM scratching (ground/curbs/wheel stops/etc.) ?

Its about "ground management". Anything that impacts your car in normal driving is fair game with this thread. Along with the improved front air dam, The Goodyear Eagle tires on the 2019 Maxima seems to have the wheel edge (rim if you will) set deeper in the tire. At least enough to protect from a light curb scrapes

not on the Platinum Reserve. There is zero tolerance.
Point of this thread was the front dam, which touched down on driveways, parking garage exits, etc.

I don't get your assessment on the wheel tire inset as we have the same wheel tire set up (albeit a different color on the Plat Reserve but the same size). My 2016 wheels with Goodyear RSA replacement tires were flush with the edge of the wheels. My 2019 Platinum is not..set back at least 3/4 of an inch. Go figure?

I'm telling you that my 2019 Plat Reserve wheels are not set back 3/4 of an inch. They are much closer to the edge, if not exactly like 2016.

We both have 19" x 8.0" wheels (rims) and (I presume) Goodyear Eagle Touring tires.

Thanks for the pictures. It sure looks like you have at least 1/2 inch of tire protruding beyond where the rim meets the tire and 3/4 of an inch further back near the tread on the sidewall. Either way though, the curb would win if you scrapped the wheel tire too close.
