Has anyone had issues with the external ground lighting? - this also includes the illuminated kick plates

Mine worked for a long time - stopped working - then I took it to the dealer - and magically it starts working right when i'm going to show the issue -

Then it worked for about a year - and now not working again - the external ground lighting never comes on nor do the kickplates? Is there a setting i've messed with or something?

this is a 17 maxima platinum.

 

Is it tied into the illumination feature in the menu in the cluster that also does the rest of the accent lighting on the dash?

 

cjbhab, I have a 2018 Maxima with both the external ground lighting and illuminated kick plates. Have had no issues to date. I don't believe there are controls for either,. For external ground lighting, lights go on when you press the key fob, press the entry button, or open the doors. They fade in and out with the dome light. Can only suggest getting dealer to further investigate. Sugardaddy1979, no, I don't believe they have anything to do with the illumination feature, called Accent Lighting. That feature is adjustable via the menus, per following:

 

Has to be a short somewhere and should be fairly easy to track down. My 2016 Plat had these features with never an issue. My 2019 is also got them and no issues there.
