Replacement Driver's side mirror

So I have a platinum 2017 Maxima and the driver's side mirror is missing a black plastic part on the underside. Not the entire housing..just a small piece that covers the piece that swivels. Nissan dealer says they don't sell the part and that I have to purchase the entire mirror for a ridiculously stupid price. I found a replacement on carid but I'm unsure if it is similar to OEM. Some brand called Replace. Comparing prices to factory (dealer has me weary. Like there had to be a catch. Anyone ever bought a replacement side mirror? What site/where should I shop

What do you have to lose by dealing with Carid? If you don't like it...send it back for a refund.

Is this the one?

Just wondering outloud if your car is a Platinum with the camera built into the mirror? Is the mirror glass intact? Are the mirrors heated? If not then the change out should be simple.

that there must explain why the replacement is so expensive.

on a tangent, when are they going to get around to power folding mirrors. My old Azera has it, but not this ....boooo

I got cute while trying to back my 2016 SV out of a tight space and cracked the plastic housing on my passenger side mirror. The glass is intact and it still works fine, so I've been hoping to stumble across a reasonably priced replacement on ebay (new or used).

According to the window sticker, my mirrors are heated with turn signal indicator so it appears that the part number is 96301-9DD1C. The OEM mirror seems to be ~$400, but I also see aftermarket options for ~$80 (like this Brock-branded one). I'd be willing to give one a shot at that price, but it's not clear what they look like as compared to the OEM mirror. Has anyone bought a third party mirror that looks like the OEM one?

I would try a salvage yard. They are all connected together these days by the interwebs.

My wife's 2017 Totota Corolla iM, OTD $18k, has power mirrors - my 2018 Maxima SV does not. Go figure.

Interesting, looks like a local junkyard has a couple for $125 each. The crash pics of one are a bit scary though.

I thought even the S had power mirrors. Probably not heated or auto-tilt though.

Oh, sorry, I misspoke. I do have power mirrors, not power fold/tilt.

It's been two years when you account for general laziness and the pandemic, but I finally got around to finding a reasonably priced replacement at a salvage yard (part# was 96301-4RA1C for heated mirror w/turn signal). It took me about 20 minutes to swap out (being very careful not to scratch anything), and the only tools I needed were a small slotted screwdriver to gently pry off a couple of small plastic covers and a 10mm socket to remove two bolts from the door and three nuts from the mirror.

I found the pictures in this front door speaker replacement guide (link) to be a good resource, although I didn't have to remove the entire door panel to swap out the mirror.

Thanks for reporting back. There are enough salvage yard Max's now to get most any part far cheaper than the dealer.
