Interior mood lights flashing

The past few nights, I noticed when starting my car, the mood lighting flashes from bright to dim. I changed colors and it does it regardless of the color. Eventually, it will settle on the dim setting which is very dim, can barely determine if the foot wells are even lit. Any ideas of where to look? Anyone else had this issue?

Thanks

Yes, yes I do know where to look, as it happened on my car.

I looked to the dealer, who replaced the defective lights, and fixed the problem,

Yeah, that's one of those thing you would only get fixed under warranty. To pay them to repair that seems quite counter intuitive. All that said, I'd seriously reach out to a Nissan Prefered line (I know Kia has one) and see if this is something they would cover out of warranty. It's kind of like if an LED exterior light dies, tail-light/brake-light, but you are out of warranty. I'd hate to replace a taillight assembly for $500 or more (guessing don't really know how much they are) without asking Nissan for compensation. After all, if it was just a $5 set of bulbs, no big deal, it's a consumable part like brake pads and tires essentially. But when an LED module goes out and you have to replace the whole housing, that's ridiculously expensive yet you could be pulled over for it. Of course the interior LED's you can't say you need this done for safety, but still, I'd reach out and plead the case.
