I bought my maxima used and of course no nav card.
I have read all the eBay horror stories so I will bite the bullet and buy at dealership.
The guy in the parts dep said all I needed was the new updated card.
But I remember reading it couldn't be installed without the old one. Can anyone verify this? It's a big price difference

If you buy a factory new card it will install. No need for the old one.
