They need to add the Infiniti engines in the Maxima and add AWD. Stop focusing on the Altima so much. Give us the 4DSC! This is the new Acura Type S. I'd like to see Nissan compete with that. Like they always competed with the TL.
That was my point, no sedans at all. So, this doesn't represent the full Nissan model lineup in the future.
No sedans but those just had new generations in the last 2 years (Versa, Sentra, Altima) whereas the Maxima hasn't had a new gen since the 2016 MY. The point of the Nissan Next video was the upcoming new models and gens coming to the Nissan lineup.
I noticed no Titan, GT-R, or Murano present in the video. Though there was an M vehicle, it looked too small to be a Murano and the rush of model names at the end of the vid didn't list Murano or any M name actually.

The Versa and Sentra were just redesigned for 2020, and Altima 2019. The Titan (2020), Murano and Maxima (2019) were just refreshed as well. The others shown haven't had an update since before 2019, so it was time to update/redesign them. This is probably why they weren't included in the video as they were just updated. even though it was just minor cosmetics.
As I have mentioned in other threads/message boards, why would Nissan invest in a new very slowly selling Z car, but cancel a more popular selling sedan as the Maxima? Makes no financial sense.
Maybe this is not the right thread for this, but I figured I'd post this here. We have a 2017 Maxima SR Midnight edition and a 2017 Nissan Rogue SL, the Rogue is a lease and its time to turn it in. We recently took advantage on some outrageous lease deals on a 2020 Honda Passport Touring ( awesome so far ) to replace the Rogue. We wanted something a little bigger for cargo area as it became a PITA to fit 3 suitcases in the back of the Rogue.
Before we settled on the Passport , we looked at a number of vehicles big and small. After driving them, I came to the determination that our Maxima was really ahead of its time in 2017 and that if we were in the market for a sport sedan that I most certainly would be getting another Maxima. I typically get the itch to get something new every few years, and with the Maxima we have now , I do not feel anything could justifiably replace it. No vehicle is perfect and they ALL have their issues, but I feel the Maxima we have has the perfect balance of performance, styling, comfort, and practicality in the sense that we get 30 mpg most of the time with not a lot of city driving.

Well stated. It has taken the competition 4 model years or more to come up with anything that competes with the Maxima. In most cases its a cheap ape of the Nissan. As for the TL, it sure looks good ..finally! Should the Platinum go away this might be an alternative option.

Right that's a good point I forgot the Titan and the Murano had refreshes recently too.

Took them awhile to get it right! Yes the Type S is coming with the Turbo 3.0 V6. The base model TLX launches in the fall will get the 2.0 Turbo engine with 272 Hp and 280 Tq. I'm pretty sure Nissan can put a suped up version of the Altima's VR Turbo in the Maxima. Base Model TLX Type S TLX. The numbers haven't been released yet. But I'm pretty sure It'll be close to the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400.

The engine in the Passport is the same 3.5 V6 that's in my 2013 Acura TL. You'll love it's power trust me! I still have fun with my fiance's 2008 Nissan Maxima from time to time. I think Nissan and Honda make the best V6's of all time.

Regarding the VC Turbo, I hope not, I got an Platinum Altima loaner for a weekend and the thing has quite a bit of turbo lag before it actually starts going after your floor it.
