Is 2018 engine oil dipstick correct length?

I have 2018 Maxima, I bought it new, now has 15,000 miles. I just did 3rd engine oil and filter change. 4 quarts new oil came up to full level on dipstick hash marks. Owners manual says 5 1/8 quarts needed for oil and filter change, 4 3/4 quarts for oil change without new filter. My dipstick length measured from bottom of rubber seal (which seats with hole in engine) to top of hash marks (full oil level) is 15 1/4 inches. In the past, I just put in 5 quarts and never checked it again. Since dipstick reads full despite adding only 4 quarts, I wonder if my dipstick is wrong. How long is your dipstick?

My previous car was 2012 Altima V6, and traded it in with 130,000 miles when I bought the Maxima, so I am aware of the problems reading oil level on the dipstick, that is not my question. I searched, but could not find anything on actual dipstick length.

I forgot to add that the number JA10A is stamped on the dipstick, which corresponds to the last numbers on dipstick in link below below.

Thanks for checking, does 4 or 5 quarts new oil and filter read full on dipstick.

5-1/8 qt. w/ filter. I always just dump in 5-1/2 qts. and be done with it. This will take it a tad over the upper edge of the hash marks on the front of the dipstick and about even with the lower edge on the back side . That danged stick goes in at an angle so oil reading will be a little high on the front side and lower than that on the back side. This engine is not that picky.

My dealership does the drain and fill. The last work slip said they filled with 5qts Castrol with a new filter, and that reads just shy of the full mark.

After sitting for a day, and several attempts, I found the oil level about 7/8 to the top line with 4 quarts and filter change. I added 1/2 quart and now the oil is smeared all over the dip stick and cannot get a measurement. I guess the dip stick is not accurate and never let it get below the full line.

I get the smeary readings as well. Only my Maxima and Altima have this problem. None of my other cars do. Even checking oil "by the book" does not always result in a nice, easy to read oil level. You gotta study the end of the dipstick a bit. My wife's Malibu has a tiny round dipstick. That shows perfect oil line on the stick. Very easy to read.
