Weak heated seats
Weak heated seats
I have a 2019 SL with 24000 on it and it's still under warranty. But I have to say the driver's heated seats are very weak. Even on high I can barely feel it, and when I asked the dealer service center to check it out they said it was normal.
Is it normal for the heat to be so weak? If not, what are the common problems. If so, are there any aftermarket hacks that can boost the temperature? Or specific parts I can ask the service center to test/replace?
Any advice most appreciated. The Chromebook I'm using doesn't seem compatible with the search field, so if there are threads dedicated to this I would love a link. Thank you.

Big 10-4 on what he says. My 2019 is a roaster once turned on for 5 minutes.
Years back, I was traveling with a new sales manager- a buxom southern belle who had recently moved from Atlanta to Connecticut. I picked her up early one January morning, after an overnight 4" snowfall- and it was about 15 degrees. While I was waiting in my car for her to "put on her face", I turned the seat heater on as a courtesy. We stopped for a to go coffee and headed for Boston- keep in mind, Michelle is wearing the black "power suit", with fishnets and 3" heels, and doing so quite well, thanks. we're on the Mass Pike, having an animated conversation, and I can't help but notice that she has been squirming around in the seat for a few minutes...far be it for me..and she finally turns to me, looks me in the eyes, and says with the Georgia Peach syrup accent, Denis, mah *** is on fihre!! which left me somewhat tongue- tied, explaining the function of the heater...she batted her eyes and said something like "Well that's a relief, I couldn't figure out what was going on!"
My seat heaters (20 SR) work just fine, BTW..

It's relative - if it's warmer outside (40s/50s), the feeling is lower than, say, if it's 20 degrees outside. My seats and steering wheel heat up fine.
Then again, the SL has the basic heater, not the 3-level heat and cool climate. I've found that the front basic heaters (SL) are less powerful than climate (which I have to keep at max heat or cool - which doesn't really cool as well as any other of my cars).
Final two comments - European (German and Swedish) cars have MUCH stronger (and faster) seat heaters. It's a supplier and design thing.
Also having lived in Atlanta for 20 years, I rarely see anyone who sounds like they fell out of Sweet Home Alabama. Most of the people here talk like rappers.
