Hello,
I have a 2017 Nissan Maxima SL and a couple of days ago I noticed that the control buttons that sit on both sides of the navigation screen no longer light up at night. Does anybody know how to get these working again to light up at night?

 

I found that my buttons (2019 but same idea) were "sticky" or "crunchy" even when new.
The only way to fix them was a complete navi replacement. (probably not what you wanted to hear)

 

Wow, not what I wanted to hear. My radio and navigation works fine. It's just the backlight for the buttons around the navigation screen.

Totally get it. It's one single unit.
The navi for my car was backordered from Nissan for 8 weeks (not that bad, but...).
And nuked Sirius XM subscription, cleared all my maps (just had updated to the newest 2013-era maps /sarcasm), etc.

(side-note - we also have a Volvo and Acura, and those both have replaceable screens - a mobile detailer absolutely murdered our navi screen and it was replaced without all the electronics)
