Nissan Maxima Owner Notification letter Suspension Noise

I got this notification from Nissan. Looks like they are finally acknowledging the rear suspension noise.

Also made a little video on it plus future plans for my Maxima SR

Yeah, I received this notice too a month ago. Keep in mind this is not a "fix the noise" notice. If you take your Max in for rear-end noise and they find that the noise is not related to the lower suspension links then you must pay labor charges for their troubleshooting time. I think I will check my own lower links again this Spring and see for myself if I might be in for a labor charge for my rear-end clunk in cold weather. I had my dealer check both rear end links last summer because I thought they seemed loose compared to the links in my other cars. I did this while still under warranty. They said both links were good, so there ya' go. Nylon link sockets and steel ball ends just don't seem right for an item that gets so much harsh wear. They also seemed way too small to hold that heavy suspension in alignment over the years, but what do I know?

It's wise to check yourself again before shelling out money for pointless troubleshooting! Problems with suspension can be intricate, particularly when they wear out over time. It's true that the nylon link sockets seem less robust than steel, so the worry is quite justified. It's best to be proactive and steer clear of unforeseen fees!

These are the clamps you don’t want to use

I had my right rear driver side lower control arm snap while I was driving on a highway in Albany Ny. Towed the car to my house and replaced it myself and it wasn’t that hard to do but I made the mistake of getting the crap spring compression toilet harbor freight (I highly recommend against using that) i ended renting one from autozone and made it much easier. 60$ for the lower control arm, 30$ for sway link and 300$ for the tow. I submitted all the proper paperwork and receipts. I didn’t send proof of ownership as it states only if over 1k. Big surprise they denied my claim.
