8th Generation Fender Rolling

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone have experience with fender rolling the 8th Generation Maxima? I was having a fitment issue with my 33mm offset rims rubbing after my coilovers installation/lowering.

I had to roll my fenders this past weekend in order for me to drive the car at all (it was rubbing that much); which worked perfectly (adding the 1/2” I needed) but Nissan has a rubber edge on the inside face of the fender under the paint (genius idea). I have rolled fenders before but never saw anything like that before.

It turns out, as the fender was heated up it loosened that rubber edge and both it and the paint came off on the inside face of the fender. Has anyone experienced this? Have any solutions to avoid potential rusting?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!
