Transmission Fluid change cost?
Transmission Fluid change cost?
My 2017 Maxima SL ran about 77000km. I'm not sure if it is a time to change. How often does this need to be changed?
Also my main question is, I called around the dealerships... Nissan dealership said 600$ which I think is a rip off.
Other 3rd party dealerships gave me quote of 400$,300$,190$
400$ one seems reputable and they specializes only for transmission services.
Other two shops seems to do more comprehensive service.
300$ one seems legit with good reviews, 190$ one also have 105 reviews but it is 4.9 stars(I'm not sure if this guy bought review, seems like it's been in a business since 1995)
I feel like I should go with 300$ one but 190$ doesn't sound too bad.. Where would you guys go?? I know that CVT is bit more difficult to work with. So I'm not sure if mechanics can mess up with my car.
What is like average pricing for the transmission fluid change? I live in Canada btw

You might want to check the manuals that came with the vehicle to see what Nissan suggests with regard to when to change the CVT fluid. However it would not hurt to change the fluid now. I had mine changed at about 85000km. Also be aware that there is more than one type Nissan CVT fluid required depending on the model and year of the vehicle.
I would suggest that the shop offerring to do this for $199 does not know what is required, since that cost barely, if at all, covers the cost of the fluid..
