Transmission Fluid change

The manual says
Transmission fluid/oil: Visually inspect for
signs of leakage at specified intervals.
If towing a trailer, using a camper or car-top
carrier, or driving on rough or muddy roads, re-
place the CVT fluid every 60,000 miles
(96,000 km) or request the dealer to inspect the
fluid deterioration data using a CONSULT. If the
deterioration data is more than 210000, replace
the CVT fluid.
I see some people changing the fluid every 30,000 miles.

I'd hope that I don't have to change that often and maybe follow the manual.

Does anyone here change the fluid every 60,000 miles?

My car is running fine at about 80000km and I have to decide whether I will have to book an appointment soon or wait for another 10,000km

Hello Mr Pizza,

My CVT fluid was black at 42k miles. My dealer wanted $275 just for a drain and refill. The baboons there don't believe in changing the filters. I bought a vacuum pump and sucked it out through the dipstick tube. You only get about 3 quarts out so repeat repeat repeat every few days until you're sucking clean blue fluid out. Now I do one or two suck jobs every 10k miles and the fluid always looks great. A bit compulsive I agree but keeping the CVT fluid clean gives me piece of mind. I am not worrying about the filters yet so I guess I am a baboon too. Maybe at 100k I will replace them.

I'm back. Ididr drain & refill for transmission fluid at Nissan Dealership.

I asked for the filter change but they said it would be 380 CAD on the top of drain & refill(310 CAD) for the total to be 690 CAD.

They said the filter change isn't necessary. Anyway, I thought paying 690CAD was bull**** so I just went with drain & refill.

My local Nissan dealer said there is no filter. I strongly argued and told them it's shown on Nissan diagrams. They then replied, oh, it's for life. I wanted it changed but they simply wouldn't, frustrating. I may do the dipstick suck method from here on out.

The blood sucking sons o *****es dealer would rather charge you $250 to drain a lowly 3 quarts out and refill. Mo fo mf's.

There are also 3 magnets in the pan full of crud plus the 2 filters.
