manual transmition fluid change
Im changing my transmition fluid on a 95 5 spd., and i have 2 questions..would you guys go with the REDLINE MTL or The AMSOIL...ive heard good about both but i am sort of leaning towards the redline....Second How many quarts do i need for the change?? I wa reading about a miata and he had to use 2.5 quarts...YIKES!!! HOW MANY AM I GONNA HAVE TO USE!!!

You should buy 5 qts to make sure you have enough. The transmission holds 4.5.

In the interest of staying objective, the reason I said MT-90 instead of MTL is that the MTL is a much lighter weight, so while it will shift much easier in cold weather than the MT-90, it won't protect anywhere near as well when the transmission is warm. MTL is around an 80wt oil when warm, while the MT-90 is a full 75W-90, more inline with Nissan's specs. Since these transmissions are a weak link in this car, I would prefer to have the better protection of the MT-90 than MTL. Of course there is Amsoil 80W-90 in my car right now.
