Electrical issue
Hello everyone,
I recently changed out my alternator after getting a battery light on my dash. Once the new alternator was on it was charging at 14.7 volts, no lights on the dash thinking all was good. I let the car sit for a couple hours then went I to go for a drive and I started the car, the battery light was on and now the alternator was ready 11.5 volts. Before I switch out the alternator I was hoping to get any suggestions as to what could be causing this as I don't want to replace it for it just to get fried right away.
Thank you!

Best to have the engine computer codes read, then start replacing the parts needed. It could be s defective alternator replacement which sadly is somewhat common if it came from China. The dealer has the best chance to check this issue out for the 12v load tests.. Sorry you are having the issue. Let us know what you come up with. How many miles on the car?
