P0128 code…thermostat?
Got a check engine light driving on the interstate yesterday. Code is P0128 low coolant temp.
Drove it some more with a scan tool to get coolant temp readouts. Stayed around 150f on interstate and got as high as 190f sitting at a red light.
I am fairly sure that the thermostat stuck open and I have an appointment at a shop to replace it this week. Anything else I should look at before I bring it in?
Thanks.

Be sure to use OEM thermostat. I had the same code and ended doing the repair twice. My 1st replacement was non-OEM. It lasted 3 months. Worse yet, it had a cheap paper gasket that was baked onto the engine. I spent hours scraping it off. OEM has a metal gasket. And price difference between OEM and non-OEM is marginal.

100,000 miles on it. It’s at the dealer now so it is getting an oem thermostat, fresh coolant and I’m waiting to see how much more new hoses would be also.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll let y’all know the outcome.
