Thinking it’s time to move on

My 2016 platinum is at 105k and thinking about trading in on a new vehicle and moving on. Can anyone recommend a car that has the feel of the Maxima, since Nissan decided to drop the line? We already own a 2024 Altima Sport, but want something powerful & luxuray like the Maxima. Any suggestions on other brands or recommendations are welcome.

I doubt you're going to find anything as sporty AND as comfortable. I've driven many in this size but my 17 has been flawless mechanically, and it just fits me like an old comfortable pair of jeans. This body style has aged so well and continues to get wows in its Coulis color and appointments.

That'll do. A girl I'm seeing drives in ES 350 but it just doesn't seem as sporty to me as the Maxima. I do like the peppy little V6s they have though. I don't think I'll ever do a four-cylinder again, turbo or not.

Haven't driven the Type S but the 2.0T Acura TLX drives in a similar way but more weight, no torque steer and with SH-AWD. Gas mileage is about 2-3 mpg lower than the VQ35DE but no CVT. The engine is proven but it does get a little rattle-ish with the direct injection. The LED lights work phenomenally well and the interior lighting adds to the more upscale feel. It's a quieter cabin but not super refined. The lack of a gearshift was an adjustment though it does have paddle shifters. They are around low to mid thirties used for 2022 and goes up from there.

These little guys just don't have the storage capacity of the maxima, when you need to haul something.

Fair point. The backseats are a little cramped and the truck opening isn't huge. I might go to an RDX sized vehicle next after having a Jaguar F-Pace diesel rental last week in London. I started to realize how nice it is to have a little extra leg / shoulder room. Though it was bulky for the tiny roads there. My partner has a CX-30 which is still kind of on the small side. Luxury cars depreciate like a rock so good deals out there if you're willing to go 2-3 years old. Maybe the 2023 5-series?

I'd look at a 3-5 year old CPO Audi A6. It will run you 30-35k for a beautiful car. It's roomier than a Maxima and has more of a road presence. It also only requires 87 fuel!
