Grinding/Screehing type sound on startup

So each time I startup my car (2017 Nissan Maxima S - 59.6k Miles), I hear a quick what I would call grinding/screehing type noise. It lasts for maybe 2 seconds and then is fine.

From what I am finding online it seems it might be the starter needs to be replaced due to damage teeth.

Looking for if anyone has had this experience and can advise/confirm before I start down the replace and hope road!

Thanks in advanced.

P.S - If you advise it is the starter and you've done replacement on it can you send videos/guides on the replacement for me. I found some but something from someone that has done it before it obviously a bit more confirmed helpful =p

How old are the belts in that thing? I think you might have a slipping belt. I quick way to try is to take a water bottle and spray each of the belts while the engine is running. If the squeaking goes away then you know you've narrowed it down to the belts. If doing that while the engine is running, then spray the belts down prior to start up and start up a couple of times.

Hmmm I've not replaced any of the belts since I purchased in 2019-23k miles on it. Its not a squeaking sound like a belt, it's more of a quick initial grinding sound on startup then quickly goes away which led me to think it was the starter motor. Of course when I went out to record the sound last night it didn't do it (first time in months) but I also just changed my oil (I change it EVERY 6k miles btw) so maybe it was something with that. I will go out again later tonight and see if I can record it to post on here.

Ah, grinding. I thought you mentioned squealing somewhere in there. I'm on the wrong track then. Try to get that sucker on some kind of a lift so one of your buddies can get under there and pinpoint where the noise is coming from as you start her up.

Sounds like belts to me. It's not the starter, unless it was replaced by an aftermarket one.
