i think if you step it more evenly it would look a lot better. Not in 1 up 2, etc. like you have it now. you know what I mean? I might be in for a set sometime next year if they fall under 400 or 500 installed.

Keep up the good work. Still looks very nice

yeah i know what you mean, but i was trying to follow the contour of the light. there will most likely be some redesigning after i get them in the housing, so we'll see.

like i said, more details to come. i'm sure everything will work, but they are prototypes so i need to test them first. there will also be some differences between these and my final kit so i'm going to make everything thats involved understood. check back next week.

update as promised:

i'm still waiting on some components and equipment. everything seems to be on track though. next week i will test them and start piecing the kit together. there is a possibility of them going through one more design change for the ultimate in plug and play. stay tuned...

well i made an exspensive dumb mistake. i didn't double check my numbers and that design will burn out/set your car on fire. i just re-re-redesigned the boards. this time i went with a different style trying to achieve something like the new accord tails. new boards in a week. ugh.

*edit* screenshot of the new design in the process:

*edit* i found a way for the prototype sets to work, but i will be using the new design anyway.

not just yet... i need to get some kits together first. i'm a little behind finishing up some details and final design changes. i do plan on doing some full retros down the line, but first i just need to get everything finalized.

i appreciate y'alls interest and i'm sorry for all the delays. this turned out to be a pretty big (exspensive) project, and i had to learn a few lessons along the way.

read above... eventually i will probably do some full retros. keep in mind the cost of lights themselves though. it will easily add a couple hundred to the price.

Will the outside lights always remain brighter or only when the brakes are pressed? Do the inners also get brighter? Looks Great!

they're not actually brighter. the way i mounted these the outer is spaced a little farther away from the lens so it refracts the light and makes them look brighter because of the viewing angle.

so then will they (the finished product) have the same brightness or will they look like the picture?
BTW... looking real good.

it would depend on how the boards were mounted. to space the inner back like the outer you would have to do some trimming to the housing. these were mounted to the oem reflector for simplicity reasons.

Interested in a set of red/clear led's when your done. It would be nice to get a list going and maybe have some members put down some sort of deposit. That way you can get a good estimate on how many people want this kit.

with something like this i prefer not to take deposits. if i would have teken deposits when i first started this (like some people were offering) i'd have some mad customers by now. i've had a lot of delays because of design changes, faulty equipment, waiting for supplies, etc. i'm 99.9% sure that i will be making way more than i can sell, but if not i can reorder and have more made within a week once the design is finalized.

That makes sense, well put me down for a set when they are ready. I am not on here much but please hit me up at reptile718@aol.com. I got cash in hand ready to purchase. Also if I buy the red/clear tails could I mail these to you and have you do the work? That might make things faster. Let me know!

So the brighter ones were trimed and the less bright was not trimmed? I got that right? I seem to prefer the brighter look better. Can you post what that looks like in the housing? In that picture above, are those just the running lights or is that the brake lights? I am just wondering what level of light output those are. O, what about an adjuster to adjust the intensity of the leds? If that comes, where do you reccommend that mounts to? I understand that some of those use/put out a lot of heat. What is the status on the led signal light project?
thanks.

So many questions, I know.

miether of them were trimmed, the oem reflector is just set back farther in the housing from the factory because of the curve of the outr tails. i idn't take a pic of the outers, but here is how the inner is mouted:

there is a brightness adjuster for the running lights (pictured). i will be installing these in a local members car next week and there will be more details/explanation of how that works then.

i have pretty much scrapped the turn signal idea because there really isn't a way to mass produce an option that is up to my standards. reverse lights have been designed and should be prototyped soon.

Allright... thanks for the updates. I look forward to checking out the final product. Your first run is going to be of 25 I think you said. Is that going to be it or do you figure these will be like your "signature item" and usually have a set or 2 in stock?

i'm sure a run of 25 will last a while, but yes these will be one of my "signature items" that i will continue to make available as long is there is interest. i will be prototyping another design this week (4 rows) and which ever turns out better i will run with.
