The struts are bad on my car and I want to lower the car so I figured I should get coil overs.

-My budget is about $700
-The car is used everyday for daily driving.
-I prob wont lower the car more than 2"
-Where is the cheapest place to buy the coilovers from?
-What coilover is the cheapest but reliable?

K-Sports is what others would probably recommend. Ii believe they are a little more than 700 also. Other than that you don't have too many options. Maybe teins?

I'm serious. There's no such thing.

Coilover kits always have SUPER stiff springs and really firm dampers. That's to help handling and keep your car from bottoming out if you drop it too low. But it causes a lot of stress on the dampers, and they will blow out if you drive on rough NJ roads all the time (ESPECIALLY in winter). If you're not careful, stuff could start breaking within a year.

Clearly some coilovers are better than others in that department. But no matter how good they are, there are no guarantees. You HAVE to be prepared to check on them once a month or so, clean them periodically, and make repairs every one to two years. If you're not prepared for that, you don't want coilovers. Seriously. That goes for ANY coilover kit from ANY manufacturer -- KSport, Tein, JIC, D2, Progress, or whoever -- and it goes DOUBLE if you're paying peanuts for them ($700 is NOTHING for coilovers).

The cheapest good coilovers you can get are the Ksport Kontrol Pros and the Tein Basics. I'm not sure where the best place is to get the Teins, but PM jinsu for the Ksports. Expect to pay $800 or more -- it may be less, but it sure as hell won't be $700. Those kits are about as reliable as they come, but remember: there are no guarantees, especially in this price range.

The TEIN Basics are the best deal out there if you're just looking for a nice drop, comfortable ride, and no hassles. One Org member has 40K miles on them and says they're still great and have never needed adjustment. Another Org member told me this: "I bought these tein basics used and they had about 25k miles on them. I've had them for a little more than half a year and they still ride awesome. No problems whatsoever."

The TEINs don't have adjustability other than the ride height, and you will lose travel if you slam them, so if you really want a slammed ride you should get another coilover system. At a 2" or less drop, however, you will have plenty of travel and a very comfy ride from all reports I've heard.

Justin of Importcarparts has them for low $800s shipped. Best price you'll find (I've been checking eBay and Froogle constantly). Check the Group Deals forum for his suspension thread.
