I spoke to Truax..they are welded, but he's going to make mine without them welded so I can experiment with "flipping" the bars.

Yeah if you're going to do that you can just flip everything upside down.
But since Dan has already said he'll do that for you, you'll really be able to figure out your most favoritist way of doing it. yay......

So how's clearance with everything since you're lowered as much as I am for the most part if not lower now that you've had it for a week? Still getting it no matter WHAT...even if I have to raise the car!! I guess we can get more clearance if we flip the xbrace and take off the exhaust brace.

Only problem with flipping that brace (I did it on my VE with the WSP stage II setup), it winds up banging against the cat all the time.
may have more clearance for you guys, but it rubbed on my cat.

I wound up pulling it off and flipping the entire brace front/rear to move the center piece forward a few inches, then cut off the heat shielding on my cat. works just fine now.

Under the A33, there seems to be enough space to flip the "x" bars, of course you'd take off the exhaust brace. That would increase ground clearance substantially.

Edit: after looking at the pics, everything is tucked away EXCEPT the "x" braces, yet shows enough clearance to flip.

You can't flip these x braces front to rear. The two rears beams are longer than the front two...
I went out there today and just looked around... If I took off the exhaust bracket, the x braces would be about [.................] that much lower than the side rails.

Ground clearance hasn't been an issue with me at all yet!

My plan was to leave the big center crossbrace as-is, but just flip the diagonal braces upside-down (not front to back) and bolt them to the TOP of the frame rail brackets and the TOP of the middle "hub" section. that way the middle hub is the lowest part, and is tucked up there.

Sure you can. you just have to get out the welder.

When I installed my custom exhaust, the center bar was right in the way of the cat flange or something down there (I've forgotten now, it's been a few years), so I just flipped the whole thing upside down and welded in a couple more plates onto the frame rails where it ties to the rest of the SFCs. the front and rear mounting points stayed the same, and all it did was move the actual center brace fore/aft about 4".

for the rest of you, that's probably not desired, so all you'd want to do is tear everything apart, flip it upside down, and put it all back together to increase ground clearance.

Well, my buddy and I are planning to do it with either 4 ramps (I'm a little nervous about driving the car up on 4 ramps at once) or somehow raising the car up and resting the wheels on cinder blocks. Obviously it's not ideal and you have to be careful but you do not want to install this without the wheels bearing the weight.

I really want these I hope to hear more reviews!!! Should I have coilovers before getting these or will these still make a huge improvement on stock suspension?

It doesn't matter what mods you have. Get the SFCs right now.

Paint + underbody coating or just underbody coating? Is the "paint" on the bars right now rust resistant?

I understand the need for more reviews on these particular ones.
But, it's a known fact that SFC's are the number one "suspension" mod for our car.... Need more convincing of that??? Come drive my car, you'll be sold..

Use the search function with terms "SFC" and "subframe connectors" and you'll find all the good reviews done in the past. As already posted, these are pretty much the best suspension/handling mod you can do to these cars.

How are you going to get the rears on the ramps? Why not use the ramps up front, slide under and tack weld it (after making sure it's nice & snug), rinse & repeat for the back?

All four wheels have to be equally loaded as if it was on the ground resting normally. Any significant shift in weight balance or suspension loading while installing these will cause the doors not to shut and a lot of other nasty chassis problems.

Didn't think it would be that significant. However, I guess VQuick can run up the ramps up front, then raise the back wheels with a jack and lower onto ramps for the rear wheels.

Could cause the doors not to shut and other nasty chassis problems. Depends on what the car's been through over its life.

Or just put jackstands under the rear beam.
