Have a z32 front brake upgrade, step in.
Upon my Z32 30mm/13" Cobra install, I had a similar problem as far as the noise goes. I rebuilt my calipers myself using Nissan parts, without splitting the body halves.
On occasion, the noise I was hearing was:
1) consistent with vehicle speed/tire rotation
2) more like the pad dragging on the rotor's face
3) almost like the pad wasn't sticking to the piston upon return
4) happening (and more noticeable) upon slow speed turns (including reverse)
5) similar to bad wheel bearing noise characteristics

I meant the smaller "O" rings when you separate the piece. Apparently, splitting open the calipers tend to have issues if the rings aren't set right, or if they're not replaced.
