Suspension Bits & Pricing

THought I'd share some info:

OEM 23mm Sway Bar Bushings '02 SE = $4.22 ea. (Dave B)

OEM Fr. Strut Bearings = $16.20 ea. (Dave B)

H&R Sport Springs = $230 (TireRack)

OEM SE Struts & Shocks = free (OEM)

Returning my ride to a less kidney-jarring daily drama on crappy roads, WITHOUT compromising handling = Priceless!

I've heard they gum up quickly and start sticking. I wish I would have known about dave b's deal on OEM ones, the dealer wanted $35 EACH for them so I got napa bearings for $20 each. Still overpayed apparently lol. They're decent though.

Coulda sworn I read somewhere that KYB's didn't mate-up properly!?

Besides - I ordered my a34 calp's and some other stuff too -- just seemed easier to order from one place. I prefer vendors I can trust...even if I have to pay a bit more.

Couldn't find a better deal ANYWHERE on the H&R's, new - that is.

I buy them from a local auto parts store that carries KYB products.
also check with Brian (internetautomart) and see if he can get them. I think he used to carry KYB stuff.

Just for the record: Tirerack has the KYB Strut bearings for $40fr/$32 rear.

That's a huge difference in price.....but, just fyi for what I found.

GRRRR I keep forgetting you have a 5 gen..

part #s here...
http://kyb.com/catalog/2007_passenger_car.pdf
(page 49 for Maxima)

you can buy the 4 gen bearings separately. KYB part # SM5323. the 5 gen only sells the bearing with the mount... but I would venture to say you can *possibly* use the 4 gen bearing in the 5 gen mount. the pictures look very similar. just a matter of making sure the diameters of the opening and the lip on the top are the same and they'll drop right in.

4th gen prices:
http://www.amazon.com/KYB-SM5323-Fro.../dp/B000C42SPY
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/musta..._Strut_Bearing

they've gone up in the last couple years. last set I bought for my 3 gen (I'm using 4 gen mounts for more shock travel), was $7.49 or something at a local Bap-Geon parts store.
