Ground Control: Different strut versions?
Ground Control: Different strut versions?
I have been looking at some ground controls for a while, and found a set made for the AGXs. Seeing as how I am going to use Koni's with them, I am trying to determine the differences between the versions of the GC's. I would venture a guess that the spring seats and mounts are slightly tailored to each make of strut, but how much? Are there any known problems using a different version of Ground Controls on a set of struts? The part numbers are different, as seen in this store here. Any insight?
The issue is that they run a slightly different bore on the strut housings with different manufacturers.
What you need to do is measure the diameter of the struts you're going to be using, and then call CG and talk to one of their tech guys to make sure you're getting the right thing. they may send you to a dealer after you've verified the proper parts, but I've always just bought my stuff directly from GC over the phone.

GC makes many applications from stock struts to all the aftermarket shocks.
The perch is the biggest difference between each. I'd give GC a call and tell them you have an AGX set and are getting Konis, if its a perch, I'm sure you can just buy it from them.
GC has some of the best customer service out there...
