Help! Changed Rear Pads: Pedal Goes to Floor Now.

Today I bought new rear brake pads. I changed the passenger side pads, then took the car for a spin around the neighborhood to make sure they worked as they should. They did not.

My Traction light, ABS light, and Brake lights are all on and the brake pedal goes to the floor. The car will stop, but if I push the bakes in too hard, the wheel where I changed the pads locks up. I've changed the front pads and rotors several times without any issues, but these rear pads have left me stumped.

I still have the other side to do, but it was such a pain in the *** to rotate the brake piston in that I think I may just fork over the $100 to Midas and let them play with it - UNLESS someone can tell me what I did wrong and why my car is being a *****. I'm very hesitant to change the brakes on the other side out of fear that I'll screw something else up.

Any ideas? (And yes, I did bleed the brakes, refill the brake fluid, etc, etc.)

Sounds like you damaged the wheel sensor on that wheel while changing the pads. did you disconnect or touch the wiring going to the wheel sensor?

I have no idea what happened. Midas ended up replacing the whole caliper. Said the piston was damaged. $350 for new rear pads, a caliper, and labor. (They wanted to replace both the rear calipers, but I had to take the cheap way out.)
