No it isn't

Is that supposed to be a question or a scenario?

Thanks for the clarification on it not being variable, then that second question does not apply.

well, if you do city driving, speeds are usually slow anyway, you wouldnt need that much low end.. We have a lot of torque on out cars, Even if you lost 50 tq, you should be fine I guess...

50lbs of torque is alot to lose but you wont even come near that with this. if 2k2-k3 lost that much then you would have a 3.0 with a few more horsepower.

well thats what I mean.. your city driving wont take that big of a hit.. But with this your are gaining much more HP and a lot of high end.

Well I am definatly interested in this mod. I just got the Cattman Headers and along with this mod. I am all excited like it was christmas in August The only Jiff I have is and no one has confirmed this is the tq loss. If there isnt any or a little then i would be down for this mod.

There certainly is a torque loss down low. Anyone who is terrified of that shouldn't buy modified manifolds, intakes, cams, etc.

But as I have stated several times over, I will present all of the required data once it is time to sell.

Fezzik, duno your car once you get a chance. I would like to see how much HP are the cattman headers giving you. I wanted to buy them really bad, but decided to wait for some numbers on the VQ engine.

Oh, yeah, I'm very interested in the manifold project as well. I was wandering if it was possible to tell if the manifold was modified just by looking at it when installed.

I am supposed to be dynoing my car for cattman hopefully to show numbers of his y-pipe vs his headers.

Nissan states their variable intake increased their torque 10% down low. Hopefully we wont lost that much......

10% torque down low is not very much. I doubt its noticeable.

Doesnt anyone know if the 1/4 mile depends on how much torque you have or how much HP?

Oxidizer2k, it depends on both as horsepower is merely a mathematical figure based on engine power output(torque) and engine speed. A small loss at 1000-2000rpm will not effect your drag/autoX times at all. I luanch at 2300rpm effectively putting me above the bulk of the loss. Even if the loss were to extend into the 2000-3000rpm range all you have to do is increase your launch rpm to compensate. In that case you will be closer to your power band anyway. Like SR20DE said you would only feel this loss during daily driving and we all know that the 3.5L has more than enough power to spare for daily driving.

Right now I think SR20 is working on the one for the maxima..(maybe that will work on the altima) But SSR Engineering is currently working on a new Intake Manifold for you Altima Guys.

It is the same manifold for both cars. I can't post on Altimas.net because someone locked my account over there and never told me why. Nor will anyone respond to my emails to unlock it.

That's sad. Lately it seems like they're blocking a lot of websites... didn't know it was seeping into people as well.

Been awhile since I've visited here, especially with .org being down for some time.

Tried looking into what the 3.5ers have been into lately.

Aside from reading the continuing posts on .net for the IM, I did not realize there was another going in for development.

300 shipped? I'm interested.

Your numbers seem promising.

It will be nice to compare towards SSR's when they establish development.

Much encouragement to you, SR20.

on a good note the manifold is coming off my car this weekend and shipped to some one with the TS ECU. I don't know if my car is hurting or not but #5 cylider is got a pretty nasty oil leak. I will not be dynoing bc of this problem. This is just some useful information I didn't go and copy of some website like I figured it out myself

I had the same leak in cylinder #5. It was causing a misfire. I ended up replacing the coil and rear valve cover. So far so good. I thought mine was an isolated case, but now I see you have it too.
