Video clip of the car going through a 1/4 mile, or just a video clip of the car PERIOD? Did the steering rack going bad have anything to do with the swap, I.E, is there enough room in there for the 3.5 and a functioning steering rack?

yes there is enough room for the 3.5 and the sterring rack also. and no the steering rack going bad did not have to do anything with the sawp. the video clip is just the car.

So we will see whether rewiring the entire car was worth it, or if Tilley's way is better.

So you went today instead, right? Come on, you're in california, you can go anytime. I'm limited to April-October.

I'm fine with that, but he first posted this on September 22nd, two months ago. We need to find out whether his swap was worth it and what problems might arise, personally, right now I'm leaning much more towards a Tilley-type swap........

Hmmm it's been 1 month and 22 days since he first drove the car. I guess he's really busy

Me on the other hand I will take my $15 and on a SAT on my day off go straight to the track as soon as I get it running.

Why would he? It's like driving a lighter, faster, more nimble version of 2k2's-2k3's.

I think he went already and ran a high 14.
I would bet his car is only 50lbs lighter than a 02 maybe 75lbs at best.

What the ****? 1995-1996 are the lightest maximas ever made, the curb weight of a GXE is 2886lb (bare bones 5 speed) (http://lighter.maxdes.net/) whereas the curb Weight of a 2002 is 3,248 lbs (http://www.intellichoice.com/reports...75/section/all).

That's a whopping 362 pounds lighter than a the lightest 3.5-powered maxima (2004-2005 are boats, 3500 pounds). And that doesn't even take into account upsprung weight (ok he kept the 17-inchers, but stock 95-96's have 15-inch wheels, which would be good for another .15-.2 in the 1/4 mile.

I believe he has a y-pipe and intake also.

So, if stock 2k2's and 2k3's 6-speeds can run 14.3-14.1 bone stock, and if this guy can drive (assuming he can drive...), he should be able to get something in the order of 13.4-13.6 on a good day. If he got headers and the rest of the cat-back he'd be faster. And if he did everything SR20DEN did to his car in the long run, he'd have the fastest N/A maxima yet. You can't ignore the potential.

Be sure to scan your timeslip when you go, so we can see 60', 330' 1/8 mph, ect. ect.
