3.5 down!!!!

well today the 3.5 says bye bye. ever since day one i put it in it had a mild noise coming from the bottomend, it sounded like a timing chain which is no biggie for a 4th gen timing chain setup. Well it got worse yesterday so i parked it and ripped it down tonight (thinkin the timing chain had issues) too find copper in the oil pan. NOT GOOD So tomorrow i will call the j/yard and try to get a new motor (this one was a water damage that i got cheap I didnt want to use a waterdamaged motor in a customers car "lxl max")

That sucks. I made sure I have a real good warranty on the one I bought.

Oh well, maybe the new engine you drop in will put down even better dyno numbers depending on how healthy it is.

Dang this sucks man. Did you tear down the motor to check/change what was needed before doing the swap? That's the 1st thing one should do with a junkyard engine, especially a water damaged one. Meh, w/e. It happens. Th next motor will be even better :-D

Oh I understand now. Are they doing that because there was some sort of warranty on the motor?

that sucks but its not like throwing a set of bearings in would be a big deal just a few hours of work but since they gave you a warrenty the labor should be on them to not just the materials. as for the rod you could have it oversized or just get a new one

That sounds like the best deal yet. You should come down to the DC meets! We have a track meet on 3-6-05 at 10 am and a BBQ coming up this summer with well over 100 cars. Love to see your ride.
