Somebody buy this and put it in a fourth gen. What ever happened to that guy that said he was going to convert his max to rear wheel drive? this would be somewhere to start.

People have the money but why? I always felt the Max looks like a front drive car. That dude was totally retarded and flaked out on us.

Either you live with the FWD or buy something else. Methinks motor mounts, LSD, frame connectors, coilovers and good tires will do it for me.

especially sick with the Stillen S\C or a nice twin turbo setup on it.........
Even with just the engine swap, you'd have one mean azz **** for under $10k.............

Even if I did, I wouldn't spend that money. Too much fab work. If I wanted a rwd car, I would just buy it. Not convert my perfectly good fwd Maxima into a rwd monster garage contendee. Although the novelty of a rwd Maxima would be kinda cool.

Definately. I'd use a VQ30 bottom end with a VQ35 upper. Twin turbos. The mustang/f-body owners would let out a collective

Somebody willing to do this would be looking for more than just a RWD car. We would be talking about a RWD 4th gen Maxima. One of a kind car that you can't just go out and buy. Plus the shock and awe from people would be just amazing.

The shock and awe from knowledgable people would be amazing. But most don't realize or care what drive format a Maxima is. To people like us it would be awesome to see a Max drifting out of a turn or anhilitating the rear tires. But after this small percentage of people saw the creation the satisfaction wouldn't be as great.

I have been asked a few times whether or not my car was rear drive. There are the people who think it's more like a BM, and others who think it's more like a camry.

There is a guy who races at my local track often. His car is a late 90's Grand Prix GTP. It is RWD, is powered by a 502 and runs mid-10s.He says on last count there is 65,000 (50k$US) on the car. I guess some people have fat bank acounts and no way to spend it

Worst is, the car looks stock except for the wheels. Hell, it's BEIGE, dammit. Huge sleeper.

A RWD GTP? Holy ****? I didn't know they made GTP's in the early 90's. I thought the SC'ed model was called the SSE. Anyway, wow. Its a sleeper but not to the nth degree. Most GTP owners think they are hot **** and do a lot of showing off. Therefore anyone that sees the GTP badge is going to think its not a sleeper. They'd just think its a mid 14 second POS domestic car.

^^ They didn't. The SSE was the NA Bonneville, the SSEi was the SC Bon, The GTP is indeed a cheaply built car, but can be made quick as f u c k.

The first time I saw it I hadn't seen it burn out so I didn't know what to expect. Saw it from the front so I didn't see the slicks and the sound of the engine was drowned by the modded 5.0 next to it. Then the lights go down and wham! 1.48 shows up on the boards (that's the 60'). It ran 10.54 that run but I saw it run 10.4s later that day. It got a huge reaction.

I'll try to find that pic I have of it laying around...

Didn't remember that curb on the hood. When the guy puts on his normal wheels it doesn't look far removed from stock... except for the hood. He actually drives it on the street. Heeeeellllllo gas tank.

And it's a 455, my bad.

I think he got it down 10.09@133 before he sold it. Never got in the 9s.

Would be awesome to see a 4th gen running low 10s while lifting the front wheels a foot off the ground on the start.
