how to clean rust from water jackets??

ok guys my first engine build im attempting how do you clean out rust from the water jackets/coolant passages?

will an acid wash do the job, whats the going rate for these so i dont get ripped off

You should be able to find it at a hardware store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc)

Take it to an engine rebuilder and have them sonicly clean and hot tank it. Do it right.
